He founded the old Missouri Sports Network that began with an original group of five stations in 1948, but eventually grew to more than 50 outlets that carried MU games. He gave countless hours of his personal time during the off-season to travel around the state of Missouri with MU coaches and administrators to speak at community gatherings to help promote the athletic program. He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
