COLUMBIA, Mo. - Nakia Sanford scored 16 points and Lynn Pride added 14 Sunday as No. 22 Kansas held Missouri to its second-lowest point total in school history with a 48-37 victory.

The Jayhawks (18-6, 7-3 Big 12) defense forced Missouri into 30 percent shooting, including 1-for-13 from 3-point range. The Tigers committed 21 turnovers.

In the history of the 25-year-old Tiger program, the only worse offensive performance was on Nov. 30, 1974, the third game in Missouri's history, a 79-33 loss to Grand View College.

Kesha Bonds paced the Tigers (10-10, 3-7) with 14 points. Kansas held Julie Helm, the fifth-leading scorer in the Big 12 with 18.8 points a game, to 10 points.

Kansas sealed its fifth-straight victory with six unanswered points over a three-minute stretch in the second half, capped by Sanford's jump shot with 4:20 remaining, to take a 44-31 lead. Missouri, after Helm's basket at the 12:00 mark, did not hit another field goal until 20 seconds left in the game.

In a sloppy first half, the teams combined to shoot 34 percent from the field.

But Selena Scott's 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded to end the first half ignited the Jayhawks. The shot, Kansas' only 3-pointer of the game, gave the Jayhawks a 21-17 halftime lead.

Kansas hit five of their first six shots to begin the second half during a 10-2 run.

Sanford's 10-foot jumper gave Kansas its biggest lead, 33-19, with 13:50 remaining.

Missouri answered behind Helm. She scored four of the Tigers' next six points in a 6-0 run. The stretch drew Missouri within 33-25 of Kansas with 12:00 left to play.
