KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Stacy Frese scored 17 of her 19 points in the second
half as No. 21 Iowa State beat Missouri 63-44 Wednesday night in the
quarterfinals of the Big 12 women's tournament.
Trailing 27-26 at halftime, Iowa State (21-6) broke the game open with a
17-4 run to open the second half.
Amy Monsees scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half for Missouri
(13-15). Monsees and Keesha Bonds were the only Tigers to score from the field
in the second half. Monsees was 6-of-10 from the field in the second half,
while Bonds was 1-of-7.
The Cyclones, who made 16 of 17 free throws in the second half, got 12
points from Desiree Francis and 10 points from Megan Taylor. Frese made all 13
of her free throws for Iowa State.
