Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri swimming and diving program is heading to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to take on the Crimson Tide in a dual meet on Friday, Oct. 20. The two programs go head-to-head for the first time since Oct. 14, 2016.
The Tiger's first dual of the season begins Friday morning at 10 a.m. from inside the Alabama Aquatic Center and Don Gambril Olympic Pool, and live results can be found via the Meet Mobile App.
The Mizzou men are ranked 20th in the CSCAA poll with the Alabama men one tick ahead in 19th. Meanwhile, the Mizzou women are receiving votes but are just outside the Top 25, while the Alabama women rank 20th.
AT ALABAMA
- 46 Tigers are competing Friday, including 30 returners from last year's squad and 16 newcomers.
- Returners competing this weekend include Kamryn Wong and Jan Zubik, who each earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors in 2022-23.
- After starting her season with a bang by posting the second fastest women's 200 fly time in school history, Taylor Williams competes Friday.
- Grant Bochenski also makes the trip to Tuscaloosa following his multi-podium outing at the SMU Classic.
LAST TIME OUT: SMU CLASSIC
- Six Tigers achieved personal bests as the team's season began in Dallas on Oct. 6-7.
- Logan Ottke's mark of 54.21 in the 100 breast and 1:57.91 in the 200 breast are both his all-time fastest times.
- Peyton Drexler crossed the finish with personal bests in the 200 free and 100 back, tabbing times of 1:49.46 and 55.36, respectively.
- Williams' career marks came in the 50 free with a time of 22.80, and her 200 fly time of 1:56.65 is the second fastest in school history, only behind Sharli Brady's time of 1:53.88 in 2018. Williams took gold in the women's 200 fly thanks to her career-defining time.
- Piper McNeil's 400 IM pace of 4:17.20 marked a career-best.
- Emily Roden notched a time of 4:58.82 in the women's 500 free, a personal-best mark for her as well.
- Zara Zallen rounded out the solid weekend for the rookies, earning a career-best 2:19.64 mark in the women's 200 breast.
- Kayla Wilson was crowned champion of the women's one-meter with a score of 269.00.
- Bochenski took second prize in the men's 100 free with a time of 43.35 and third place in the men's 100 back with a time of 46.35.
