COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Men's Golf will welcome Nebraska transfer Jack Lundin to the roster for the 2021-22 season.
A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lundin produced a stellar freshman campaign at Nebraska, posting the second-best scoring average for the Cornhuskers with a 74.67 for the season. He went 3-1 for the Huskers in the Big Ten Match Play Championships to open the spring before concluding the season with three consecutive top-15 finishes.
"Jack has great character and is passionate about golf," co-head coach Mark Leroux said. "I believe he will be a great addition to our team and make an immediate impact at Mizzou."
Lundin finished tied for 19th last week at the Trans-Miss Amateur Championship in Minnesota. The new Tiger carded a 285 (+1) over the four-round tournament. He closed the event with a 1-under 70 in round three and an even-par 71 in the final round
Lundin produced his best finish of the collegiate season in the Nebraska Git-R-Done Invitational, carding a 54-hole best of 213 (E) in the tournament. His best single round performance of the season came in the Aggie Invitational where he posted a two-under 70 in the final round at the Traditions Club in College Station, Texas. The round was one of three under-par for Lundin in the shortened campaign.
In six regular season tournaments, Lundin earned a pair of top-five finishes individually. He finished in a tie for fourth at the Hoosier Invitational in April before ending the season with a T-5th finish at the Git-R-Done Invitational.
Prior to his first season at Nebraska, Lundin was a two-time South Dakota AA state champion. He was the top-ranked player from the state in the class of 2019. Lundin captured his first state title as an eighth grader in 2015 before finishing his prep career with a second individual title and a team title in 2019.
In the summer of 2020, Lundin broke the Midwest Junior Golf Championship record with a six-under 210 for the 54-hole tournament. He also captured the 2019 SDGA Men's State Amateur Championship, becoming the youngest player in history to win the event. Lundin is a two-time South Dakota Junior Amateur champion (2018, 2019) and has four top-six finishes to his credit in the American Junior Golf Association.
