The Tigers conclude dual action with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-2 mark in conference competition

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 21 Mizzou women's swimming team concluded Southeastern Conference action on Thursday with a 138-96 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The women finished dual meet action with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-2 mark in league competition.

Mizzou opened the day with the victory in the 200 medley relay, where the B squad of sophomore Hannah Stevens, junior Katharine Ross, freshman Maddie Gehrke and senior Anna Patterson touched the wall in 1:41.39 for the win.

Sophomore Sharli Brady claimed the first of two wins with a first-place showing in the 200 fly (2:00.32). The sophomore then clocked a 52.04 in the 100 free to claim top honors in that race as well.

The Tigers earned a backstroke sweep thanks to swims from junior Nadine Laemmler and Stevens. Laemmler struck first as she placed first in the 100 back in 56.33, while Stevens touched the wall first in the 200 back after a swim of 2:01.30.

Ross and redshirt senior Abby Duncan also completed a Tiger sweep in the breaststroke events to increase Mizzou's team lead. Ross won the 200 breast in 2:12.71, while Duncan took top honors in the 200 breast with a time of 1:00.13.

In the first individual swim of the day, sophomore Kira Zubar earned a first-place finish in the 200 free after a swim of 1:52.38.

Also winners on the day were freshmen Gehrke and Aurore Jacolin. Gehrke won the 50 free in 23.67 and Jacolin placed first in the 500 free after touching the wall in 5:03.58.

Additionally, senior Miranda Mercke and sophomore Erin Metzger-Seymour finished first in the 200 IM and 100 fly, respectively. However, their times were in exhibition so did not count toward the team score.
