@MizzouSwimDive Continues SEC Action at LSU on Thursday

The two Tiger programs compete at 1 p.m. CT in Baton Rouge, La.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving teams continue Southeastern Conference action on Thursday, Jan. 14 when the programs travel to Baton Rouge, Ala., to face LSU at 1 p.m. at the LSU Natatorium. Live results will only be available through Meet Mobile. 

The Tigers return to dual meet action after almost a two month break for the swimming teams, while the divers competed at the start of the new year. The Tiger men, ranked 10th nationally, own a 3-1 record overall and a 1-1 mark in SEC competition, with a win over Kentucky and a loss to Tennessee. The No. 19 Mizzou women are 2-1 overall and 1-1 in league action, also with a win over the Wildcats and a loss to the Volunteers. 

Last time out, the Mizzou divers competed at the three-day Georgia Diving Invitational, Jan. 3-5, in Athens, Ga. Senior Clark Thomas earned finishes of second (1-meter), third (3-meter) and fifth (platform) to lead the Tigers. Also earning top finishes at the meet were sophomore Alexa Beckwith (fourth on 1-meter and eighth on 3-meter), sophomore Madeline McKernan (fourth on 3-meter and platform), freshman Kyle Goodwin (sixth on platform) and sophomore Kendra Kieser (ninth on 1-meter and 10th on 3-meter).

On the swimming side, Missouri enters the meet with 11 Tigers ranked in the top-25 nationally in their respective events. Three different Tigers, junior Michael Chadwick, redshirt senior Abby Duncan and junior Fabian Schwingenschlogl, all own top times in the country. Chadwick leads the nation in the 100 free while also ranking second in the 50 free. Duncan owns the nation's top time in the 200 breast and clocks in at fifth in the 100 breast, while Schwingenschlogl is tops nationally in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 breast. Additionally, junior Katharine Ross ranks third in the coutnry in the 100 breast.
