COLUMBIA, Mo. - Eighteen members of the Mizzou swimming and diving program were named Scholar All-Americas by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced on Monday (July 14). In all, the Tigers had nine first team Scholar All-Americans and nine honorable mention selections.

To qualify for Individual Scholar All-America recognition, a student-athlete must have a 3.5 or higher GPA (cumulative or term) and have competed at the NCAA Championships. Honorable mention honors are awarded to individuals with a 3.5 or higher GPA and posted "B" standard times in swimming or competed at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.

Five Tiger women earned first team Scholar All-America honors in 2014: Danielle Barbiea, Brittany Hammond, Anna Patterson, Lauren Reedy and Katharine Ross. Additionally, Madison Bridges, Lauren Callin, Andrea Marko and Ellie Suek earned honorable mention accolades.

On the men's side, Michael Chadwick, Carter Griffin, Andrew Sansoucie and Clark Thomas were all named to the first team, while Mark Conroy, Alex Glogoza, Stephen Sobczak, Martin Wallace and Keiser Witte were honorable mention selections.

The women's team was also named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team with a team record 3.36 GPA.
