Feb. 26, 2014
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Championship season has arrived for the Tigers this week, as they prepare for the trip to College Station, Tx., where they will, once again, come head-to-head with the nation's best in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championships. Last year, the teams emerged from the fray with three All-SEC finishers and an SEC Champion in the then-freshman, Markesh Woodson. The teams will return to the arena on Thursday to build upon the successes of 2013 and continue re-writing the Missouri Record Books.
Events will begin on Thursday at Texas A&M's Gilliam Indoor Stadium with the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon taking center stage. The men's heptathlon will continue into Friday, while the meet will go through Saturday evening.

Re-Writing the Record Books
The Tigers have made a habit of updating the record books week-to-week as they took down 105 personal records (PR's), 22 All-Time Top Ten marks, and five School Record performances thus far during the 2013-14 season. Topping that list with four School Record marks is junior Kearsten Peoples, who took down the seven-year-old weight throw record, previously held by Elisha Hunt, and her own shot put record two times apiece. Her top mark for the weight throw stands at 21.18m (69-6), while the shot put record is holding at 17.51m (57-5.5).
Making his second mark on the Missouri Record Board was sophomore Markesh Woodson, who now holds the leading times in both the 60-meter dash (6.60) and 200-meter dash (21.13).
