ORLANDO, Fla. - The Mizzou tennis team posted a 7-0 sweep over Oakland on Sunday, Feb. 23 in a neutral site match in Orlando, Fla. With the win, the Tigers improved to 3-6 on the spring season, while the Golden Grizzlies fell to 1-6.

Missouri swept all three doubles matches against Oakland. At No. 1 action, seniors Cierra Gaytan-Leach and Rachel Stuhlmnann easily defeated Karine Celis and Juliana Guevara, 8-1. Sophomores Kelli Hine and Madison Rhyner were victorious over Tamara Blum and Elizabeth Guy, 8-5, at No. 2, while freshmen Tracy Dong and Cassidy Spearman earned an 8-3 win over Cam Sabourin and Rebecca Phyle at No. 3 doubles.

The Tigers claimed wins in all six singles matches to compete to 7-0 sweep. At No. 1 play, Gaytan-Leach defeated Celis, 7-6 (4), 6-0, Hine notched a 6-0, 6-0, win over Sabourin at No. 2, while Stuhlmann was victorious over Blum at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-2.

At No. 4 action, Rhyner recorded a 6-5, 6-3 win over Guy, and Spearman and Dong notched identical 6-2- 6-1 victories. Spearman defeated Guevara at No. 5 singles and Dong claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win over Phyle at No. 6.

Missouri returns to the court for a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 28. The Tigers face Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C., at 9 a.m. ET, before opening Southeastern Conference play against South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., at 5 p.m. ET.
