COLUMBIA, Mo. - Four Mizzou divers will compete in this week's 2013 USA Diving Winter National Championships, held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center at the campus of the University of Texas. The event runs from Tuesday, Dec. 17 - Sunday, Dec. 22.
Tiger men David Bonuchi and Clark Thomas and women Loren Figueroa and Lauren Reedy will all compete in the Championships.
Bonuchi will compete on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, the platform and will team up with Stanford's Connor Kuremsky on the 3-meter synchro. Thomas will take part in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Figueroa will go on the 1-meter and team with Reedy on the 3-meter synchro.
Competition gets underway on Tuesday with the Bonuchi and Thomas in the men's 1-meter semifinals at 10 a.m., followed by the Figueroa on the women's 1-meter. Finals will begin at 6 p.m., with the men first, followed by the women.
On Wednesday, Bonuchi and Thomas compete in the men's 3-meter, with quarterfinals at 10 a.m. and semifinals at 5:30 p.m.
Bonuchi returns to action on Thursday for the men's platform quarterfinals, which will get underway after the women's event at 10 a.m. The men's platform semifinals will take place in the evening.
On Friday, Figueroa and Reedy compete on the women's 3-meter synchro prelims at 10 a.m., while Bonuchi will follow with Kuremsky after the conclusion of women's preliminaries.
Saturday features the women's 3-meter synchro finals, followed by the men's 3-meter finals. Sunday competition includes finals for the men's 3-meter synchro and the men's platform.
