COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 14 Missouri softball team belted out 12 runs on 8 hits, backing another dominating performance by redshirt sophomore Chelsea Thomas while run-ruling Arkansas by a 12-0 score in five innings.

Thomas (4-2) won her fourth straight game on another outstanding showing, as she struck out 10 batters in four innings while allowing two hits zero walks. She set down the last eight batters she saw on strikeouts. Her ERA is down to 0.54, and she's averaging over 12 strikeouts per seven innings.
Senior
Rhea Taylor stole second base in the first inning to become the Big 12's new all-time stolen base leader. Taylor, now with 154 career bases, broke Sharonda McDonald of Texas A&M's record back in 2007.
Junior
Ashley Fleming led the team offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of runs, a home run and five driven in. She's tied for the team lead with three home runs on the year and leads all Tigers with 16 RBI.
Fleming's home run came in the first inning, jump starting a four run frame for the Tigers. Ruggeberg added a two out single, setting up an RBI double by
Lindsey Muller.
Arkansas had a golden opportunity in the second, loading the bases with only one out on a couple of fielding blunders by the Tigers. However, Thomas got the last two Razorbacks to strike out swinging to put an end to the threat.
Missouri tacked on six more in their half of the second to break the game wide open. With the bases loaded and no one out, two runners scored on a fielding error by the catcher. Fleming then followed with a two run double, making it 8-0. Another fielding error scored Fleming, while
Abby Vock made it 10-0 with a single to right field, her second of the inning.
In the third,
Jenna Marston singled after
Nicole Hudson was hit by a pitch, and two batters later,
Princess Krebs came through with a two run double to left field, increasing Mizzou's lead to 12-0.
Vock finished the day 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Rhea Taylor and
Nicole Hudson each scored twice, while Marston singled and touched home three times.
The Tigers are set to play four games this weekend, as they welcome Illinois State and Illinois for the DeMarini Invitational. Action gets underway at Noon CT on Saturday at University Field.
