Columbia, Mo. - The Mizzou Men's Swimming and Diving team built on their success from Thursday on day two of the Mizzou Invitational. At the end of day two, the Missouri men's team is in first place with 957 points, which contributes to the team total of 1,715 points.
The Tigers got the ball rolling early in the meet taking the top two spots in the 200 yard medley relay. The relay team of Ryan Sellers, Mark Conroy, John Krause and Ramom Melo placed first with a time of 1:28.63, improving their seed time by over four seconds. The relay team of Sam Tierney, Igor Kozlovskij, Neil O'Halloran, and Joe Hladkik took the second place spot with a time of 1:29.58.
Missouri also took the top two spots in the 400 yard IM. Yaniv Shnaider placed first with a time of 3:48.21, a personal best , and met the NCAA Qualifying B Standard. Mack Darragh placed second with a time of 3:53.73 and also met the NCAA Qualifying B Standard.
Two Missouri swimmers placed in the top three of the 200 yard freestyle event. Eegan Groom notched a time of 1:37.58 for first place and O'Halloran swam in 1:38.81 for third place. Both swimmers meet the NCAA Qualifying B Standard.
In a dominant 100 yard breaststroke the Mizzou men swept the top six spots. Kozlovskij took first in 54.19 and set a new Missouri All-Time record in the process. Conroy placed second with a time of 54.31 and Tierney took the third place spot in 55.09. All three swimmers me the NCAA Qualifying B Standard.
Two Missouri teams placed in the top three in the 800 yard freestyle relay. The team of Groome, Stephen Sobczak, Shnaider, and O'Halloran recorded a time of 6:36.05, almost thirteen seconds faster then their preliminary time, and earned the first place spot. Coming in third, the team of Andrew Phillips, Alex Glogoza, Connor Nolan, and Darragh recorded a time of 6:41.04. Both teams met the NCAA Qualifying B Standard.
David Bonuchi dominated the 3 mtr diving event with 423.65 points. With that score he meets the NCAA Diving Standards.
