COLUMBIA, Mo. - Sophomore Lisa Henning (Blue Springs, Mo.) reached the 20-kill mark for the fifth time in her last six matches as she led the Mizzou volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21) win over Texas Tech on Saturday evening (Oct. 15) at the Hearnes Center. Henning posted a match-high 22 kills on .312 hitting while pulling in seven digs and chipping in four total blocks (two solo, two assists), accounting for 25 total points.

For Henning, the 22 kills marks the fifth time in six matches that he has eclipsed at least 20 kills as she continues to lead the Big 12 in kills per set (5.00) and points per set (5.58) during league play. In fact, Henning is averaging 5.85 kills per set over her last three matches and 6.50 points per set in that span as well, both of which are league-best marks.

Henning led a Tiger offense that finished with 53 kills in the match with sophomore setter Molly Kreklow (Delano, Minn.) anchoring the attack. She spread 48 assists (12.00 per set) while pulling in seven digs, falling just shy of her 10th double-double of the season. Freshmen Katie O'Brien (Dallas, Texas) and Whitney Little (Keller, Texas) supplied more of the offense for Mizzou, totaling 10 an nine kills, respectively, while Little did so on .278 hitting. O'Brien's 10 kills are just one shy of a career-high while Little missed matching her career-high by two.

The Tiger defense was very good in the match as well, totaling 14.0 total blocks, just one off of a season-best. Senior middle blocker Brittney Brimmage (East St. Louis, Ill.) led the way with six blocks while Little pitched in five more. In fact, four Tigers finished the match with at least four blocks. In the back row, senior libero Priscilla Armendariz (Blue Springs, Mo.) led the way with 17 digs.

The win for the Tigers is their second-straight as Mizzou improves to 16-7 on the season and 3-4 in Big 12 play. The win also moves Mizzou head coach Wayne Kreklow just four wins shy of his 400th career victory as a women's head volleyball coach. Mizzou will have a quick turnaround as it will host Central Arkansas in its final non-conference match of the season on Monday (Oct. 17) at the Hearnes Center. That match is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
