COLLEGE STATION, Texas - In one of the more thrilling races of the day, the Missouri women's swimming and diving team capped off Thursday in a big way by demolishing the 200 free relay school record at the 2010 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Tigers sit alone in third place with 167 points, leading Kansas, Iowa State and Nebraska. Texas A&M leads the meet with 357 total points, while Texas is second with 285.

Wanting to begin the finals on a strong note, the team of Lisa Nathanson, Cassie Cunningham, Stephanie Rovig and Kim Jasmer finished in 1 minute, 30.49 seconds to earn bronze in the event. The "B" cut mark beats the former school record of 1:31.29 set last year.

Colleen Gordon earned a fourth place finish in the 500 free finals after swimming a season best team time of 4:45.50, while Kim Jasmer finished seventh after clocking in at 4:49.89. Gordon and Jasmer made the finals of the 500 free after strong preliminary swims put them in the championship heat final. Gordon finished in 4:46.11, while Jasmer went on to finish in 4:48.15.

Rovig and Lauren Lavigna also scored points for the Tigers in the 500 free, with Rovig coming in 11th place in 4:50.28, and Lavigna in 12th place in 4:50.86.

Sophomore Jordan Morcom earned her place as one of the top eight in the 1-meter dive competition and finished with a fifth place finish. Morcom scored 276.85 points in the final and is her third best score this year.

Nathanson earned a seventh place finish in the 50 free, touching the pad in 23.29 seconds. Nathanson powered her way through the preliminary to finish with a time of 22.91 seconds making the championship heat.

Dominique Bouchard earned a 14th place finish in the 200 IM, first swimming a 2:02.95 in the prelims, then 2:02.91 in the finals. The time puts her at the top of the season best category and puts her third all time behind Lori Halverson.

Missouri will head into Friday's action at 10 a.m. with the swimming of the 400 individual medley.
