Soccer Earns 100% Grad Rate

Nov. 16, 2010

As announced by the NCAA, the Missouri soccer team is the only squad in the Big 12 to graduate 100 percent of its students from the entry classes of 2000 through 2003. The perfect GSR (Graduation Success Rate) score for the 22 student-athletes that passed through the program is based on the NCAA six-year standard graduation period. Missouri is one of just 10 public, BCS schools in the country with the mark.

"This is a milestone for our program," said Jaysen Spencer, Academic Coordinator for the Total Person Program. "It shows that the coaching staff takes graduation seriously. It also shows the dedication of the ladies on the team that they do pride themselves in receiving a prestigious degree from the University of Missouri. They are students here, not just athletes, and this clearly shows that."

SCHOOL	GRADUATION SUCCESS RATE (%)
University of Missouri 100

University of Oklahoma 84
Texas Tech University 83
University of Colorado 77

"It's incredibly rewarding to know that in addition to success on the pitch, these ladies have opened up a world of opportunities to be successful businesswomen and mothers," head coach Bryan Blitz said. "Seeing that is what is most rewarding as a coach."

The GSR is measured in four-year cohorts, and accounts for those students who transfer into the program. Those students in good academic standing who transfer out are not counted into the final statistics, unlike the Federal Graduation Rate.
