COLUMBIA, Mo. - - Mizzou clinched its second-straight Big 12 series win by taking a 9-5 win over Texas Tech in game two of the weekend series at Taylor Stadium. The Tigers used a six-run second inning to jump out to an early lead and held off the Red Raiders.

Missouri's (23-21, 10-10 Big 12) offense picked up where it left off Friday, with the six-run bottom of the second inning. Junior Greg Folgia opened the second with a home run as the first seven Tigers to bat in the inning reached safely.

The home run for Folgia was his eighth of the year and extended his hitting streak to eight games. He has had a hit in 14 of the last 15 games and 16 of the last 18.

In the third inning, senior Kyle Mach connected for a solo home run, his third of the season to make it a 7-0 lead for the Tigers. Mach was 2-for-4 with two runs scored on Saturday.

Texas Tech (20-26, 9-11) put four runs on the board in the top of the fifth inning on a two-run double by a Michael Reed and a two-run home run off the bat of Jeremy Mayo.

The Tigers answered with runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Senne led off fifth with a double and scored on a single by senior Trevor Coleman. Mizzou's run in the sixth was an unearned run as junior Michael Liberto reached on an error and later in the inning scored on a base hit by senior Ryan Lollis.

Senne, Coleman and Lollis each had two hits in the game.

Senior Scooter Hicks started on the mound for the third time this season and was perfect through the first 4.1 innings. A double by Scott LeJune in the top of the fifth inning was the Red Raiders' first base runner of the game.

Hicks struck out a career-high six in 4.2 innings pitched. He allowed three runs on just two hits.

The final game of the weekend will get underway at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Taylor Stadium.
