Lawrence, Kan. - The Missouri women's swimming and diving team picked up its first dual victory of the campaign after besting Border Showdown opponent Kansas, 176-119, at the Robinson Natatorium in Lawrence, Kan. Missouri claimed wins in 12 of the 16 events and recorded 25 top three finishes. With the win, Missouri holds onto its lead over Kansas in the annual M&I Bank Border Showdown, 4.5-3.

The Tigers kicked off the night with a win in the 200 medley relay. Led by freshman Cassie Cunningham (Pflugerville, Texas), junior Morgan McCleery (Celina, Texas) swam the second leg, senior Kim Jasmer the third and sophomore Lisa Nathanson (West Des Moines, Iowa) anchored the event. The four-person team edged out Kansas in 1:44.16 for the first 11 team points of the meet.

Next up for the Tigers, junior Francie Szostak (Northbrook, Ill.) picked up her first win of the season in the 1000 free in a time of 10:12.39.

Jasmer continued Missouri's win streak with her first place finish in the 200 free. Jasmer touched in 1:50.93, followed by Tiger swimmer Stephanie Rovig (Houston, Texas) in second (1:52.71) and Caitlin Connor (Burr Ridge, Ill.) in third (1:54.03). The one, two, three finish was the first of two in which the Tigers took first, second and third.

Senior Colleen Gordon (Missouri City, Texas) won the 200 butterfly in 2:04.89, it was Gordon's first of two wins on the night. Win No. 2 came in the 500 free with a time of 4:58.97.

Swimming the 50 free, Nathanson won in 23.36. Later in the night, Nathanson won the 100 freestyle in 51.48.

Missouri's divers finished second, third and fourth, on the one meter board with sophomore Jordon Morcom (Grapevine, Texas) leading the charge. Morcrom took second with 269.47 points behind KU diver Meghan Proehl with 273.90. Late in the night, Morcom took first in the 3 meter event with 291 points.

Junior Lauren Lavigna (Vancouver, B.C. Canada) and Dominique Bouchard (North Bay, Ontario, Canada) took first and second in the 200 backstroke. Lavigna finished in 2:00.42 and Bouchard finished in 2:00.74.

Jasmer earned the Tiger's second to last win of the night finishing the 100 butterfly in 52.76. Senior Molly Bollen (Carrolton, Texas) took third in 57.83.

The win over Kansas was Missouri's fourth straight dating back to the 2006-07 campaign. Missouri will return to the pool Nov. 14 in a Noon (CT) contest with Southern Illinois. The Tiger's fourth dual of the season will be held in the Mizzou Aquatics Center.
