COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri men's swimming and diving team finished second at the Show-Me Showdown in the first home meet of the season on Saturday at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.

Missouri State finished in first with 346.5 to the Tigers' 313.5. Drury scored 272.5 for third-place.

A trio of men's swimmers earned first-place finishes during the day. Junior Jordan Hawley claimed the 50 free with a time of 20.90, junior Anders Melin clocked a time of 23.16 in the 50 fly for the victory and sophomore Yaniv Shnaider picked up a first-place finish in the 200 IM as he clocked a time of 1:52.97.

The Tigers dominated the diving well, claiming first-place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter. The 1-meter was scored as a team scramble, where each member on the team completed six dives covering all five groups with true degree of difficulty. The points from each diving group's highest scorer counted toward the team total score, and the best score per diving group (front, back, reverse, inward, twist, 6th opt.) counted towards the total. In the 3-meter, senior Greg DeStephen took first with a 272.10 to finish ahead of teammate Dante Jones, who scored a 265.40.

In the 400 free relay, the men's team of juniors Jordan Hawley, Jeff Hendricks and Anders Melin freshman Joe Hladic claimed first-place with a 3:07.88.

The Mizzou men's 200 free relay team of senior Matt Burns, sophomore Scott Martin and Hawley and Melin picked up a second-place finish as they recorded a time of 1:35.09. The 400 medley relay team of Hawley, Jan Konarzeski, Martin and Melin also finished in second with a time of 3:26.40.

Konarzewski earned points for the men's side with a second-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 50.83. Melin and Spenser Lauver both took home third-place finishes in the 100 fly and 500 free, respectively. Melin posted a time of 51.67 while Lauver finished in 4:42.18.
