The Mizzou men's golf team is in 10th place at the GADO North Texas Classic, the opener of the spring season for the Tigers. MU carded rounds of 290 and 303 in the first day of play in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
The Tigers 290 in the first round was led by junior Peter Malnati's 67, matching his career best. Malnati followed that with at 75 in round two and is tied for fifth place with a 36-hole total of 142, just two shots out of the lead, which is shared by Jose Toledo of New Orleans and Kyle Nicolson of Cal State-Fullerton.
Tiger junior Ryne Fisher is tied for 37th place with a two-round total of 149 with a 74 and a 75 on the first day of play.
Freshman William Harrold recorded rounds of 73 and 79 for a 152 total, placing him in a tie for 48th spot.
Sophomore Bud Reynolds and freshman Tyler Hillis are among a group tied for 58th place with a two-round score of 156.
The final round of play at the Flamingo Golf Club will be played on Monday.
