COLUMBIA, Mo.-- -
A run in the bottom of the ninth gave No. 25 Mizzou a 7-6 win in the nightcap of its doubleheader with No. 16 Texas A&M on Saturday at Taylor Stadium. The win gave the Tigers a split of the twinbill after they dropped the opener 3-1.
In the second game, sophomore Ryan Lollis walked to lead off the ninth inning for MU and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by senior John McKee. He advanced to third on a wild pitch. After freshman Trevor Coleman was intentionally walked, junior Jacob Priday beat out a throw at first on a double play ball, allowing Lollis to cross the plate with the game-winning run.
The RBI was Priday's second of the game, as he also drew a bases loaded walk in the third inning.
Mizzou (25-10, 7-4 Big 12) scored six runs in the bottom of the third on just two hits. Three Tigers walked and senior John McKee was hit by the pitch for the second time in the game. The two hits in the third inning were an RBI double by Lollis and a two-run single by freshman Aaron Senne.
Senne had three of MU's six hits in the game, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Texas A&M (29-8, 7-6) would tie the score with three runs in the seventh following a two-run sixth inning.
Sophomore Rick Zagone stuck out seven in 6.1 innings, taking a no decision. Freshman Kyle Gibson recorded the final two outs of the top of the ninth inning to take the win, his fifth of the season.
In game one of the day, sophomore Aaron Crow allowed no earned runs in recording his second complete game of the season, but took the loss as the Tigers fell to Texas A&M 3-1.
The Aggies' starter, Kyle Nicholson, matched Crow's complete game, as he struck out six and allowed just one unearned run in nine innings, improving to 8-1 on the season.
Mizzou went up 1-0 in the second inning after Coleman doubled then scored on an error by the Aggies.
Texas A&M tied the score with a run in the seventh inning, then put two runs across in the top of the ninth, scoring both runs on a squeeze bunt by Craig Stinson.
The final game of the series will start at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Taylor Stadium.
