Columbia, Mo.--Backed by strong fall play, seven members of Mizzou's tennis team are scheduled to compete in the Wilson/ITA Regional Championship Tournament this weekend in Tulsa, Okla.

Dominating the competition in recent years, the Tigers have won the 64-team doubles title two of the past three seasons. Last year, the Tigers reached the doubles semi-final round and had one player reach the singles semi-final. In addition, the Tigers were also represented by in the quarterfinals.

Selected to participate in the 2004 tournament are Katka Sevcikova, Erika Josbena, Hana Kraftova, Yelena Olshanskaya, Mary Barry, and newcomers Charlotte Bellis and Lubica Nadasska. Sevcikova could be a tournament threat as she has won two titles already this fall, including a national win over #30 Dora Vastag of Indiana.

The Regional Championship begins on Wed., Oct 20 and concludes on Sun., Oct. 24. Finalists of the singles and doubles competitions advance to compete in the ITA National Indoor Championships later this fall.
