The Big 12 Conference announced its 1999 All-Conference tennis teams and individual honors today. The all-conference teams and honors were selected by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Freshman Biljana Pawlowa was named to the All-Conference team and was tabbed women's Newcomer of the Year. Pawlowa, from Sophia, Bulgaria, led the Tigers all season playing at the No. 1 singles position. She was instrumental in pacing Missouri to its first conference victory in 17 years with a win over Iowa State on April 3. She finished this past season with an overall record of 21-13 and a conference record of 5-7.

"She had a great year. We're looking for even bigger and better things of her in the future," head coach Blake Starkey said. "I'm certainly glad that she's on our team and we don't have to play against her."
